Rwanda's permits cost roughly twice Uganda's, and the trekking is easier, the roads are better and Kigali is ninety minutes away rather than a full day.

When should I come?
The best months are shown on every destination card. In broad terms the dry seasons — January to February and June to October — are easiest, but the green season has fewer people, lower rates and better light.
How long do I need here?
Three nights is the minimum worth doing. Two nights means one full day, and travel days on either side.
Can I combine it with somewhere else?
